Training
As part of the Business Enterprise Works programme you will take part in a series of 4 business start-up courses.  The courses are accredited by Coventry University and on successful completion of all 4 you will receive a Certificte of Professional Development - Business Start-up.

Each course lasts half a day and involves learning using your own experiences and those of the other course participants.  All of these modules have some exercises that are to be completed during the day and they have two benefits, they help you remember what you learn and provide the university with some evidence that something coherent has been conveyed.

Module 1 - Starting and Planning Your Own Business
This course deals with the thought processes that you have around your business idea and provides a structure for all the questions that you have. It covers the market that you want to enter, the legal aspects of what to call the business, how to start it off and the resources you have at your disposal.

Module 2 - Financing a New Business Venture
This course covers cash, how to get it, how to keep it, how to avoid the hidden pitfalls and keep the cash in your business.  It looks at cash flow, profit and loss, how to understand what is happening and how to talk to the experts.

Module 3 - An Introduction to Small Business Management
This course covers the areas that you must look at regularly in order to keep your business going, including finance, customers, business development and people.  It concludes by looking at your business priorities to grow your business over the next year.

Module 4 - Introducing New Products and Services to MarketThis course deals with the challenges of marketing and selling your product.  It covers the 7Ps of Marketing, developing products, promoting and advertising them, pricing, your market and linking this to orders.
